Irreplaceable

Well, school is in full swing.  Nathan and I are starting a play group next week.  Funny how things in life happen.  Not funny Ha Ha, but funny how looking back on life and you get that 20/20 vision.  Looking ahead sometimes is so blurry and seems impossible and then you look back and say to yourself,  "that is why that happened!"

I have had to reminisce this week on why play group is important to me and got my 20/20 vision.  I had to speak to a group of ladies.  I am starting a new play group, at my new church, in my new town, with new to me moms, with new to me kids.  I am excited because I know what play group has done for me and I am excited for this new in my life.

I am also sad on the other hand because I miss my peeps.  I started organizing play group almost 6 years ago!  Six?  Where did the time go?  Alex was a bun in the oven.  Maddie wasn't even 2.  Some of you reading can remember sitting in the new church building at the interest group lead my my irreplaceable friend (although at the time I didn't know her from Jane Doe).  I volunteered to be the point person  (I just have to add that I am teary eyed as I try to express myself). My thoughts were, I am a stay at home mom with nothing going on in my life (ha!) I can do this.  So I became accountable.  I got so much more in return!  Friendships that even though miles have separated us we will always be friends. Some moved before me and some have moved since.  I now have friends in TN, NC, TX and FL.

I remember Meagen bringing me a starbucks coffee to Crisp Park, how long ago was that?  Those are the little things that make life great.  I remember some of you telling me you were going to have another baby, they are 4 now.  I remember someone telling us she was going to Alaska.  Which I might add she survived and is now back in sunny Florida to thaw out for her next adventure?

Who knows what is in their future?  No one!  What we do have is the past.  Something we can look back on and know that the good was great and that great things are going to happen in the future too.  This is why I am so excited for this new play group in my life.  New ladies in my life that will become irreplaceable.

I am now teary eyed remembering how the "old" play group began and the relationships it brought. We started it for the kids to have play mates, but the Moms benefited even more from the socialization! At a time when we can be isolated as "stay at home moms," we had others to give us support and encouragement - Priceless! I wish you well in starting the "new" group!

Break is over!

Wow! It took me some time to log onto Blogger. I always feel like it is a test when I have to remember a password on an account. I couldn't remember the email or password. That is when you know it has been awhile.  I started a new blog on wordpress. I have been writing but it is all about crafty DIY project and organization. Someone asked me a few weeks ago if I ever use Box of Chocolates and I was sad to say, "No".  So here I am with a renewed outlook on Box of Chocolates.  You never know what you are going to get, but here I am again so at least it will be something. For a year I have been wanting to do National Novel Writing Month. It is the month of November.  The process has already started for me. I have been reading books on writing and doing research on some of the ideas I have for my Novela. Novel sounds so much better to me in Spanish. I think I have written about things in different languages sometimes just sound better. I think it was a post on my ...

NaNoWriMo & Peeps

peeps pēps/ noun  informal people (often used to refer to a person's friends or associates). "thanks for the feedback, peeps!" If you choose to do NaNoWriMo you have got to explain to the ones you love and cherish what you are doing in November. The more warnings the better. I told my husband a year before I started NaNoWriMo that I wanted to   do a month writing challange and explained the details. I didn’t talk about it all year but once October came around I started to talk more about NaNoWriMo. I talked about it so much my second year that my kids wanted to do NaNoWriMo too.   It was fun to do some writing prep with my kids.   My oldest has already set a goal for this year.  If you have kids you should check out the  Young Writers Program .  They can set word goals. I like encouraging my kids to write with me. It might even help me justify writing on Saturday and Sunday when I have a kid or two a...

"Normal"

Psalms 62:8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge . This past year has been something else to say the least. From October to October, okay not quite a year but WOWSER! Didn't see that freight train coming. I have to reflect. I have been reading my blog entries going back to October of last year. Part of me can believe it has been a year since all this started and part of me feel like it was forever ago. Daily I have to turn my cares over to the Lord, carry my cross and trust with a faith that can move mountains. Recap~ October 2008 ~ The company Mark is contracting for is a pool company and is really feeling the effects of the economy and crisis and has to cut back. Mark was not the first to go but his time is up the first week of October. November 2008 ~ hint of a job in Raleigh NC. The person hiring has to wait until January to see if they get a contract or not. Very surprised at the lack of jobs in the Tampa area...
