Life stuff....

~Tee Ball is about to wrap up. Just long enough to start getting tired of going twice a week. Girls had tee ball pictures which set me back a few bucks. Can't wait to get them tonight! Working on a project for the coach as a thank you gift. Scrappy of course.

~Maddie is going to start swim team....maybe. Swimming around these parts is different than home. There are not public pools all over town that you pay a couple of bucks to swim. Pools around here are members only pools where you own a membership. Let me break it down they way I understand it. $300 membership, almost $400 in dues each year and you have to pay to be on swim team $45 for the month of June only AND you have to buy a $42 swim team suit and a $25 practice swim suit. Since we have a pool we don't need to be a member of one, I did find the USA swim team in town that is just about $50 a month and they swim all year.

~Nathan wants to do karate? Just add it to the ever growing things we are doing.

~Alex got a new bible in church yesterday. It is amazing how things happen sometimes. Our kids have kid bibles but she is starting to read more and just yesterday on the way to church I said "we need to get you (Alex) a bible." Well, in Sunday school yesterday they gave her one because she said she didn't have one. I emailed her teacher and asked her who it was Alex should thank because the girl carried around her new bible all day yesterday. Her teacher said it was the other teachers idea. We need to make her a card.

The Lord knew and provide for Alexandra her desire of her heart is what her teacher said in an email. I love this woman! She is so zealous in her views of our God it is infectious. She is a mother of five grown boys ages 24 to 16 and she home schooled! Love her (did I already say that) I am so glad she has been placed in our lives! We just got an email card from the teacher that gave her the bible as I type this. I love the people at this church.

~Mark started a blog. Been There Built That. Check it out the link is in my list. He doesn't read mine but I am plugging his? Nathan's dresser.

~Mark and I are working on our bedroom this week and next. Our new furniture should be here soon so we need to get the painting done and I talked Mark into so closet upgrades. I wanted bifold doors on our closet which I think Mark was cursing this fact as he was tearing out working doors, sliders ~ uggg. He will be thankful when the bifold doors are done with a middle shelf up the center. I will do before and after pictures when it is all done.

Break is over!

Wow! It took me some time to log onto Blogger. I always feel like it is a test when I have to remember a password on an account. I couldn't remember the email or password. That is when you know it has been awhile.  I started a new blog on wordpress. I have been writing but it is all about crafty DIY project and organization. Someone asked me a few weeks ago if I ever use Box of Chocolates and I was sad to say, "No".  So here I am with a renewed outlook on Box of Chocolates.  You never know what you are going to get, but here I am again so at least it will be something. For a year I have been wanting to do National Novel Writing Month. It is the month of November.  The process has already started for me. I have been reading books on writing and doing research on some of the ideas I have for my Novela. Novel sounds so much better to me in Spanish. I think I have written about things in different languages sometimes just sound better. I think it was a post on my ...

NaNoWriMo & Peeps

peeps pēps/ noun  informal people (often used to refer to a person's friends or associates). "thanks for the feedback, peeps!" If you choose to do NaNoWriMo you have got to explain to the ones you love and cherish what you are doing in November. The more warnings the better. I told my husband a year before I started NaNoWriMo that I wanted to   do a month writing challange and explained the details. I didn’t talk about it all year but once October came around I started to talk more about NaNoWriMo. I talked about it so much my second year that my kids wanted to do NaNoWriMo too.   It was fun to do some writing prep with my kids.   My oldest has already set a goal for this year.  If you have kids you should check out the  Young Writers Program .  They can set word goals. I like encouraging my kids to write with me. It might even help me justify writing on Saturday and Sunday when I have a kid or two a...

"Normal"

Psalms 62:8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge . This past year has been something else to say the least. From October to October, okay not quite a year but WOWSER! Didn't see that freight train coming. I have to reflect. I have been reading my blog entries going back to October of last year. Part of me can believe it has been a year since all this started and part of me feel like it was forever ago. Daily I have to turn my cares over to the Lord, carry my cross and trust with a faith that can move mountains. Recap~ October 2008 ~ The company Mark is contracting for is a pool company and is really feeling the effects of the economy and crisis and has to cut back. Mark was not the first to go but his time is up the first week of October. November 2008 ~ hint of a job in Raleigh NC. The person hiring has to wait until January to see if they get a contract or not. Very surprised at the lack of jobs in the Tampa area...
