Easter Weekend?

Our Easter weekend was anything but traditional.  We had a interesting weekend full of learning experiences.  First lets talk about mountains.  See in the valley it is a tad warmer so when you travel up it tends to get cooler.  Yes, I knew this in my mind. To experience it was a totally different story.  We decided Saturday to go to Mante Sano State Park for a picnic lunch. Elevation 1,600 feet. It was cloudy in the valley but was supposed to clear, it never did and actually got colder.  We could see our breath in the air by the time we left the park.  We had a good time and will go back when it is warmer.
Saturday night around 6 PM I went to Cracker Barrel to do some one stop Easter Bunny shopping.  Never have I been so late on my Easter Bunny duties.  The kids didn't even realize it was the eve of the Easter Bunny until bed time.  Moving changes the priorities of life! All the girls expected (yes they expect something from the bunny) was Webkinz.  They need another Webkinz like a hole in the head. We have so many, but two more was easy and Cracker Barrel is within minutes of the house.   So, we added Sweetie Bell the canary and Dory the purple goldfish to our massive collection of Webkinz.  They also got more Webkinz clothes (40% off) and Nathan got a gun from the bunny.  Celebration of the resurrection of our savior with a gun?  He loves it and thinks the Easter bunny is the best (that would be me so I think it is great). No candy because well, who needs the Easter Bunny when they have Nana, Yea Yea and Aunt Marie sending packages?

We colored eggs on the kitchen floor (two of the kids in underwear) in solo plastic cups on Easter morning. We went to Calvary Chapel Saint Petersburg via the webcast.  Although I really am looking forward to finding a church family here it is nice to see and hear Danny and the band.

We went for a long country drive in North Alabama, almost to Tennessee due to my direction errors.  I'm not kidding, five to ten miles from the state line.  All was good but I knew it was getting too country when we finally decided to use the GPS.  Mostly getting a feel for the area and possible cities we can live in.   It is very pretty here and can't wait for the weather to be just a bit clearer so I can get some great pictures.

Oh, and if you need and Auburn or Alabama gear, I'm your girl!  I'm in Crimson Tide country with a splash of Auburn orange here and there. Couldn't help but think of some Florida girls with Alabama ties this weekend.  Miss you all and hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Great to hear about your adventures! Even when it is foggy and cold, there is still something about that mountain air!

I soooo understand. Things do and will continue to change once you move away from home. It's "A Whole New World".

Low Expectations

Mark and I took the kids a couple of years ago to Orlando for a weekend.  Nathan was less than a year old, Alexandra must have just turned 2 and Madison was 4.  I look back and laugh but at the time it was anything but funny.  A trip to Disney would be fun and relaxing right?  HA!  We never even made it to Disney because Madison was so ornery the day we were going to go I couldn't justify going.  We learned a lot about being parents of three young kids that weekend.   During our stay we took the kids to the Rainforest Cafe.  Nathan was terrified the whole meal and after our $75 lunch Madison threw up all over the table and floor.  That is when Mark made the rule we don't take the kids to a restaurant unless it has a drive thru, curbside doesn't count.  We really do stick to that rule and the only sit down "nice" restaurant we go to with the kids is Sonny's BBQ.  Before we left I wanted to get the kids a little something from the Disney Marketplace.  I took the...

Break is over!

Wow! It took me some time to log onto Blogger. I always feel like it is a test when I have to remember a password on an account. I couldn't remember the email or password. That is when you know it has been awhile.  I started a new blog on wordpress. I have been writing but it is all about crafty DIY project and organization. Someone asked me a few weeks ago if I ever use Box of Chocolates and I was sad to say, "No".  So here I am with a renewed outlook on Box of Chocolates.  You never know what you are going to get, but here I am again so at least it will be something. For a year I have been wanting to do National Novel Writing Month. It is the month of November.  The process has already started for me. I have been reading books on writing and doing research on some of the ideas I have for my Novela. Novel sounds so much better to me in Spanish. I think I have written about things in different languages sometimes just sound better. I think it was a post on my ...

True Friends

I am on Facebook daily and love flair.  I had a local friend send me flair that said , " True friendship isn't being inseparable. It's being separated and nothing changes."  I'm hoping that once I leave this area I have many friends that are true friends.  This post is an ode to such a friend.  One friend of mine moved away many years ago and I realized the other night that she is that just that friend.  It doesn't matter if time or many miles separates us she is a true friend.  I realized after a long conversation on the phone with that person (her mostly listening) that I have a gem of a friend and I am so grateful for her.  I just wanted to send out a shout to that person, you know who you are and let you know I think your the best!   Maybe one day God will let us live in the same city.   It is funny as you get um... well.... older you start to have friends all over the country.  I do have many friends all over the place and each of you are special to me.  ...
