Time

Yes, my topic again is about time.  This one is not about the waste of time, but the passing of time.  As in how long it has been over a period of many days, years, etc.

Saturday night I went scrapbooking at a friends house.  Something we have done for about two years!  WHAT?  Two years, at least once a month.  Where did that time go?  I feel like it was just yesterday that Meagen and I where going to Anita's.  At the time if you would have told me my scrap buddy was moving in the matter of months to Fuquay-Varina I would have said two things,  "Where in the world it that?" and then I would have said "yeah, right!". She probably would have said the same things at the time.

I now see it all as a God wink.  Most of you have been to a Women of Faith conference and have heard the term God wink.  I appreciate all the God winks in my life.  See, at the time I didn't know Anita except from an occasional candle party or birthday party.  We were aquanitices at the lowest level.  I am so glad I can call Anita a friend today.  Jen too!  If I had not gone to Anita's with Meagen that night I would have missed out on so much.  A couple new scrap buddies and memories of a friend that even though she isn't there (her chair is usual empty) she is missed and NEVER forgotten.

Other God winks in my life have been life changing.  One of my favorites is the day I saw Mark for the first time.  I was a freshman in high school and he was a senior and learned his name. SIGH!  I am so glad for a few things, one I didn't make a fool out of myself (14 year old girls tend to do that you know) and the fact he graduated two weeks later.  Assurance I wouldn't make a fool of myself, over him anyway.

So quite a few years later when I got a job where Meagen worked we soon became friends (another God wink).  After time she mentioned this guy that was friends with her and her fiancée and that she wanted to set us up on a blind date.  I would have NEVER gone, but when she said Mark I lost it.  I couldn't believe it.  A little God wink.  Mark had no idea what he was getting into.  We have been married for 11 years this February 14th and have three kids! Crazy.

So, all this to say I miss ya Meagen and God did put you in my life for a reason, or two, or three!

Break is over!

Wow! It took me some time to log onto Blogger. I always feel like it is a test when I have to remember a password on an account. I couldn't remember the email or password. That is when you know it has been awhile.  I started a new blog on wordpress. I have been writing but it is all about crafty DIY project and organization. Someone asked me a few weeks ago if I ever use Box of Chocolates and I was sad to say, "No".  So here I am with a renewed outlook on Box of Chocolates.  You never know what you are going to get, but here I am again so at least it will be something. For a year I have been wanting to do National Novel Writing Month. It is the month of November.  The process has already started for me. I have been reading books on writing and doing research on some of the ideas I have for my Novela. Novel sounds so much better to me in Spanish. I think I have written about things in different languages sometimes just sound better. I think it was a post on my ...

NaNoWriMo & Peeps

peeps pēps/ noun  informal people (often used to refer to a person's friends or associates). "thanks for the feedback, peeps!" If you choose to do NaNoWriMo you have got to explain to the ones you love and cherish what you are doing in November. The more warnings the better. I told my husband a year before I started NaNoWriMo that I wanted to   do a month writing challange and explained the details. I didn’t talk about it all year but once October came around I started to talk more about NaNoWriMo. I talked about it so much my second year that my kids wanted to do NaNoWriMo too.   It was fun to do some writing prep with my kids.   My oldest has already set a goal for this year.  If you have kids you should check out the  Young Writers Program .  They can set word goals. I like encouraging my kids to write with me. It might even help me justify writing on Saturday and Sunday when I have a kid or two a...

"Normal"

Psalms 62:8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge . This past year has been something else to say the least. From October to October, okay not quite a year but WOWSER! Didn't see that freight train coming. I have to reflect. I have been reading my blog entries going back to October of last year. Part of me can believe it has been a year since all this started and part of me feel like it was forever ago. Daily I have to turn my cares over to the Lord, carry my cross and trust with a faith that can move mountains. Recap~ October 2008 ~ The company Mark is contracting for is a pool company and is really feeling the effects of the economy and crisis and has to cut back. Mark was not the first to go but his time is up the first week of October. November 2008 ~ hint of a job in Raleigh NC. The person hiring has to wait until January to see if they get a contract or not. Very surprised at the lack of jobs in the Tampa area...
